New Orleans Entrepreneur Week 2014 concludes today with the The Big Idea, the world’s largest crowd driven pitch event for entrepreneurs. The event kicks off at 5 pm at Manning’s on Fulton. Fifteen businesses, including two of our favorites, FundDat and Cajun Fire Brewing will compete for a chance to win $50,000.

FundDat, a crowd funding platform founded by Alexander McConduit allows business owners to dream, at least momentarily past their parched pockets, of the impossible! ”We not only give you a place to raise money, we offer countless meetings with business owners to discuss their projects. We also host monthly workshops to educate them on what crowd funding can do to help their businesses”, says McConduit. He began his journey almost a year ago and look at him now!

Our other favorite, Cajun Fire Brewing, a craft beer brewing business founded by Jon Renthorpe (Check out his Professional of the Month Spotlight), Adam Dawson, Paul Taylor, Jomarque Renthorpe and Courtney Wilson is now the only African-American owned and operated brewery in the United States. With plans to move into a site by the fall and open by late 2014, the craft beer company is moving in the right direction.

The other featured entrepreneurs include: 4D Supplements, Athletic Performance Testing (APT), Bats on Tees, BitBike, CultureConnect, iSeeChange, KREWE du optic, Locally Preserved, MakerState, Thredix, and Where Y’art.

Again, the Big Idea kicks off at 5pm and will last until 8pm at Manning’s on Fulton Street! Follow the instructions below for a chance to take part.

Entrance to the event is $25, which gets attendees a $25 “Chip” to give to their favorite featured entrepreneur.

Mid-event, the three entrepreneurs with the most chip money (which is theirs to keep!) will advance to the final round and be eligible to win an additional $50,000.

Voting ends at 6:45pm so make sure to drop your chip before then!A local celebrity judging panel made up of Archie Manning, Thomas Morstead, Terrance Osborne, Wendell Pierce, and Susan Spicer, will decide the overall winner.
